Not Philosophy, but, hey.

While tilting back a glass of red Bordeaux, an aroma floated up into my awaiting nostrils. It was the rough, somewhat barnyard smell of dark poultry meat, a smell that conjures up visions of grey meat that falls apart at the merest touch, and feathers plastered together lifelessly that resemble nothing more than toothpicks and sticks.

Then, the epiphany - Of course Coq au Vin makes sense. Drowning a cantankerous old capon (tough and bitter, and spiteful to the hilt) in red wine and braising it slowly is brilliant. The aroma of the wine and the taste of the stewed chicken are made for each other. Grape and fowl - disparate items, yet idyllic complementarians.

Welcome

I'd love to write something along the lines of, "You are now about to embark upon a journey of some sort, that will change and astonish you, amaze and astound you."

But I would be lying.

This is, after all, simply a blog. A website where I write my thoughts, and place them out there for a public to read. A public, of course, that needs to materialize. Otherwise, I will be simply writing to myself, the internet's answer to all those crazies that used to resort to talking to themselves (I have the luxury of being silent and merely hearing the 'click-clack' of my keyboard as I selfishly pontificate from this comfortable desk chair).

For my first post, I believe it would be prudent to introduce the blog and the contents that will be forthwith appearing. My interests run a long gamut, and I believe I have much to say on a multitude of topics, including...
- Social Criticisms
- Philosophy and Philosophers
- Nietzsche (my man)
- Economics (non-mathematical discussions)
- Social theories, i.e., how we interact, how we function, etc.
- The internet, and its consequences
- Cinema and Cinematic Theories
- Art
- Self-indulgent fiction writing
- And various topics that wouldn't be deemed serious - the future dangers of robotics, food and the culinary arts, music, subcultures, anti-hipster rants, and anything else that I feel like spouting.


This list is by no means exhaustive and is strictly preliminary - I guarantee that I'll post things that don't fall into any of these categories.
